What is Barre arms?

Barre arms are targeted, micro-movements that focus on building long and lean lines in the arms. When doing Barre arms we use light weights, work with high repetition, and really maximize the muscle endurance in the arms.

The benefits of Barre arms

The benefits of the Barre arms method are not only building strength and toning the arms. It has various other benefits, such as improving your body posture, increasing upper-body mobility as well as releasing built-up tension in the upper back.

How are arm classes built up?

When we have an arm-focused class on Withsara, we usually work with light weights such as 0.5 - 1 kg. 2 kg can be an option if you feel like the body is capable. We focus on micro-movements, pulsing, targeted movements, and high repetitions in each exercise. Eventually, into the class, you will start to feel an intense burn in the arms which can be challenging. It can be a shock at first how much it burns but with time you will be able to work through that challenge with the right breathing, concentration, and increased endurance.

Why are these exercises so effective?

We love this type of toning the arms, mainly because you will see the results quickly. The results are driven by the way we exhaust the muscles with the isometric move where your muscles are activated and working in order to maintain a position with small controlled movement. Another reason is The result of your hard work will be shown in more toned arms, better posture, and improved alignment.

Hi! I'm Sara, the founder of Withsara. I have been a fitness group instructor, Barre teacher and Yoga teacher for over 10 years. I am also a certified Nutritional Health Coach from IIN in New York, USA.

After giving birth to my two beautiful daughters, I have had to build up my body twice after my pregnancies. With my experience, I have created a workout that is a great combination of low impact, functional movement, pilates, barre, and yoga. It builds up deep core strength, creates sustainable and lasting change, relieves physical tension and mental stress, and gives you an overall healthier and happier body.
