Outdoor activity

During a Withsara summer schedule, you might have optional running days.  We want to encourage you to go out, get moving and enjoy the fresh air.  Whether you choose to run or walk and no matter how far you run, just getting outside for that activity is all that matters.

Starting slow and get going

If you are new to running or you have not been running for a while, allow yourself to start slowly. Not putting any pressure or expectations on you. Just go out, do your best and be proud that you went out for a run no matter how far or long you went.

What to think of during a run

Here are a few tips to keep in mind to make your run successfully:

  1. Slow down. It is not about running fast, run slow and keep that tempo

  2. Breathe deeply the whole run. It will help you get oxygen into the muscles and allow you to last longer in the run

  3. Don’t run straight after eating a meal. Grab a banana or nuts before you go.

  4. Drink plenty of water after the run and stretch. There is a stretching class in the Summer challenge schedule today as well.

  5. Listen to your favorite podcast or music during the run

  6. Do your best and be proud of yourself for going!

Like with any Withsara movement, just go for it, do your best and enjoy!

Hi! I'm Sara, the founder of Withsara. I have been a fitness group instructor, Barre teacher and Yoga teacher for over 10 years. I am also a certified Nutritional Health Coach from IIN in New York, USA.

After giving birth to my two beautiful daughters, I have had to build up my body twice after my pregnancies. With my experience, I have created a workout that is a great combination of low impact, functional movement, pilates, barre, and yoga. It builds up deep core strength, creates sustainable and lasting change, relieves physical tension and mental stress, and gives you an overall healthier and happier body.
