Technique tip for mat work

How to support your knees and hands during mat work

In my home workouts, we spend a lot of time on the floor in various plank sequences, push-ups, and leg exercises from all fours. Our bodies are all so different and for some of you it might feel like you need extra support for your knees, wrist and elbows. Take a look at my demo video that I created for you on how you can support those areas by folding the mat or using a pillow.

Fold your mat or use a pillow/blanket

During mat work you can always keep a pillow/blanket next to you, to place under your knee while on all fours if you feel like the support from the mat is not enough. As another option you can fold up your mat either for you knees or hands/elbows to get a little thicker ground for extra support.

After giving birth to my two beautiful daughters, I have had to build up my body twice after my pregnancies. With my experience, I have created a workout that is a great combination of low impact, functional movement, pilates, barre, and yoga. It builds up deep core strength, creates sustainable and lasting change, relieves physical tension and mental stress, and gives you an overall healthier and happier body.
