6 tips for summer motivation

Motivational tips

Are you lacking motivation these days to work out? It is not unusual that at this time of the year it becomes a little difficult to stick to a proper workout routine. If you relate to this we have a few tips for you to keep up your motivation.

  1. Write down your why

Think about the main reasons why you want to work out and write it down on a piece of paper. Be specific and true to yourself when you write it down and realize how it instantly motivates you just by writing down the words.

2. Remember how you feel after working out

How does working out make you feel? Close your eyes and imagine that feeling you get both during and after a workout. Feel the energy, endorphins, and happiness that take over your body. Recall that feeling when you need it and let it be the reason for you to roll out the mat.

3. Remember the benefits

What are the benefits for you personally of working out? Does it decrease your stress levels, improve your mood, give you better posture or help you with improving your lifestyle. Those benefits are for you to improve your health and help you become stronger and healthier.

When you have a reason for doing something it is more likely that you do it consistently. So, knowing why you work out and how it makes you feel is essential to keep it up.

Keeping up a workout routine during summer

With summer around the corner, we tend to change our routines. We might be putting more focus on work-related things before going on a vacation or we might be spending more time outside than before which is causing us to work out less. It is therefore important to adjust our workout routine to the changes happening. Here are a few tips:

  1. Find a different workout time

Times that suited well before might not work so well over summer. Now that it is getting lighter in the morning, it could help you get that workout done earlier than before so you have the whole day to spend differently. Or maybe you have more energy in the afternoon now than in the wintertime. Therefore you can do your workouts after work and feel great. Play with different times and see what suits you the best.

  2. Do your workouts outside

All of the Withsara classes can be done outside and is a great way to get the workouts done. Ask your family members and friends to join you or find a quiet place for yourself to do a class.

  3. Don’t be too hard on yourself

Even though you are not working out as much as you were before, every workout counts. Be realistic and find a new schedule that works for you.

Adjust to new times but don’t let it take your consistency away. Keep working towards your goals, keep reminding yourself of the why you work out, and stay true to yourself.

With my experience, I have created a workout that is a great combination of low impact, functional movement, pilates, barre, and yoga. It builds up deep core strength, creates sustainable and lasting change, relieves physical tension and mental stress, and gives you an overall healthier and happier body.
