Four tips before your first workout in a challenge

We are excited that you are considering starting a Withsara challenge and joining you in the coming weeks. Having the right mindset throughout these weeks will increase your well-being and results. So here are some tips.

The first step is to show up

You might be in a perfect workout routine, but if you are new to a challenge, the first step is just to focus on today. The workouts are never longer than 30 minutes and are designed to ease you into the challenge and give you a little adjustment period. When we get further into the challenge we will increase the intensity but still be manageable for any fitness level.

Avoid skipping

It is easy to skip a day, it's also easy not to skip a day. No workout day takes longer than 30 minutes. The compounding effect of all the workout days is where you grow. At the same time, it is important to listen to the body and do your best each day. Some days you will have more energy and on other days you might want to take it slower.

Eat well

Nourish your body with good food. Allow the challenge to be a way to reboot your healthy eating habits. Keep in mind that we don’t expect you to do any drastic changes or eat healthy 100% of the time. Find a good balance that suits you well and keep in mind that having a healthy diet is going to serve your energy levels, improve your mood and help you feel so much better.

Rest well

In the challenges, we also take time for rest days. For example two days on, one day off. That means plenty of time to recuperate. Take your rest days seriously and use them to recover and relax. Maybe doing a meditation class or going for a slow walk could be good.

See you on the mat.

Hi! I'm Sara, the founder of Withsara. I have been a fitness group instructor, Barre teacher and Yoga teacher for over 10 years. I am also a certified Nutritional Health Coach from IIN in New York, USA.

After giving birth to my two beautiful daughters, I have had to build up my body twice after my pregnancies. With my experience, I have created a workout that is a great combination of low impact, functional movement, pilates, barre, and yoga. It builds up deep core strength, creates sustainable and lasting change, relieves physical tension and mental stress, and gives you an overall healthier and happier body.
